The Real Santa was directed by Robert O'Twomney who was inspired to create the short by a thread he started on reddit's r/WritingPrompts.

He sees you when you’re sleeping. He knows when you’re awake. He can bypass any security system in the world and escape. Santa sounds like the world’s most deadly assassin, if the kid can meet his price.
