Watch: workers in padded armor destroy "murder hornet" nest

The so-called "murder hornet"—"asian giant hornet" being too prosaic—is back in business. Here are workers in Oregon destroying the first nest of 2021, spotted near the town of Blaine along the border with Canada.

The nest was located in the base of a dead alder tree in rural Whatcom County, about 2 miles (3 kilometers) from a nest the agency eradicated last October and about one-quarter mile from where a resident reported a live sighting of an Asian giant hornet on Aug.
